Quilt’s in Morocco by Kaffe Fassett
The vibrant colors and fantastic patterns of Kaffe’s new collection of quilts have found their perfect partner in the richly decorated houses and gardens of the old quarter of Fez in Morocco. Kaffe and his team show of this stunning array of new designs against the old mosaics, richly carved furniture, and exotic courtyards to be found in the narrow soukhs, all captured in Debbie Patterson’s brilliant photography.
Among the quilts this time are Kaffe’s eye-catching Shuttles quilt (on the front cover) and his flying geese designs, which echoes the diamond patterns of the ancient mosaics. His richly toned Paisley Columns picks up the tones of the splendidly decorated painted furniture, as does Liza Prior-Lucy’s aptly named Blue Morocco Quilt. In strong contrast, Corienne Kramer’s Cayenne quilt makes an eye catching splash of all the reds in the private hammam at the Cafe Fez.
